#VEDABlack

It’s VEDA time again. If you don’t know what the VEDAs are it is Vlog Every Day in April/August. Last April I attempted to do the VEDAs but on day 2 I almost burned the house down and was just over it. (Check out my Fire Safety post for some fire safety tips). But I’m ready to jump back on the saddle and try it again. I’ve collaborated with some awesome black food bloggers to bring to you #VEDABlack. Every day we will have a cooking demo on Facebook Live. I’ve never done Facebook Live before so I’m excited and nervous for my turn, which will be Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 @ 7 pm.

Why VEDABlack and not VEDAfood or what not? Well, I’ve been networking and expanding my horizons in the food blogging, nutrition, dietetics world and there’s always a recurring theme or thought that pops up in my head… Where is the diversity? There are so many different types of foods, cultures, and food bloggers but when you think of food blogging there’s this stereotype of a young 20-something blonde who lives in California. #VEDABlack is a chance to challenge that stereotype and show that like our palates food bloggers are very diverse. Without veering off too much representation matters…
