Did you know that March is caffeine awareness month? I decided to celebrate caffeine awareness month by going to the Coffee and Tea Festival. Last year I volunteered at the festival and was able to get in for free. But this year I wanted to be fancy so I just bought a ticket and roamed. Now if you didn’t know before let me tell you now…
I LOVE TEA!!!
I really like going to these festivals because you get to learn so much and you get to met different vendors. You get to met some of the owners of small businesses. Here’s a couple of things that stood out a little bit more than the others.
Oh, you TEAse!
This tea company had a cute little table where you can have a tea party. I’ve always wanted to get my own teapot set so I can have tea parties of my own. But people usually make fun of me when I say this out loud. I was able to fake fulfill my dream of having a tea party.
Health and Tea!
This was my favorite vendor at the festival. The owners are a married couple (a Taiwanese woman and her husband- he had a European accent). They were so nice especially the wife. We spent about 20 minutes talking about the different types of teas, our favorites, and ways to get an energy boost without having the crash that coffee or sugar gives you. The second cool thing about the company is that they have an app. Check them out!!!
This company grows their teas in Bangladesh and employees the local women. This is great because the women are better empowered and it helps out the community. I enjoy buying from small businesses because it gives me a better sense of where my money is going. I’d rather spend a couple extra pennies on a product knowing that the company is going to help the world be a better place instead of giving it to big companies. If you get a chance look them up!
Harney and Sons
I’m a loyal Harney and Sons customer. Although it’s a big company I think they have really great products. These two teas were the best tasting ones from the samples. And I paid $5 for both tins. That is a great deal!!!! 🙂
My favorite type of tea is Matcha! I’m not sure why I love it so much. It may be the bright green color. Maybe it’s because of the fact that Matcha sounds similar to my name Marsha. Or maybe I like it so much because the process of making matcha tea is different. You can’t help but feel connected to nature!
Here’s a video that shows a part of the matcha making process.
